P.S... A Footnote to my embroidered dress post

I was trawling through Etsy this morning and came across a picture on a sellers profile... of the pattern to my dress!

Many thanks to Anna of A Few Loose Threads for sending me the link to her blog with the snap!

that's so neat! wonder if there once was an NRA label in anywhere...usually 1933-35 dress patterns from Simplicity seem to have the label if that is the date it is from? Just thought if you saw one, you would be able to pinpoint its era!

Love this pattern...it is so nice. Thank you for your lovely comment on my blog...wasn't the day just fantastic...I loved every second of it. I think they are thinking about running one next year which is great. I found your blog through your friends Ben and Simone as I took photos of them for my blog too. Hope you have had a lovely day today and I am just about to upload the rest of the photos so keep checking back.

It is a beautiful dress and what a fab find on the pattern. No thoughts on how to clean it. I have put dresses in the washing machine on a silk wash before but l wouldn't risk it with this. Have you tried using some of the vanish soap? I got an oil stain out of an eighties dress recently with it. Or maybe old fashioned soap suds, you can buy them from green cleaning product websites - no harsh chemicals. x
