Hellooo...
I finally plucked up the courage to post a bit of uke strumming on here (it also helped working out how to record on my camera with sound... clever girl aint I?! However, I'm afraid the sound levels are a bit off and the picture quality is a bit fuzzy)
So, for your delectation I present "I Wanna be Loved by You" composed by Herbert Stothart and Burt Kalmar and sung by Marylin Monroe in the film "Some Like it Hot" also sung by the most heavenly Ms. Annette Hanshaw in her Betty Boop style voice... which I decided to give a miss for this recording!
N.B: This is not perfection... just a bit of fun. the dress however is perfection. Courtesy of the delicious Baroness V.V of Adelines Attic
Coming soon... "You Rascal You" composed by Sam Theard, covered by many artists/bands including Louis Armstrong and Ambrose and His Orchestra

P.S
I'll be posting the draw results tomorrow :)

Oh, Gem that was FANTASTIC. I love your voice and playing even a smidge more than Janet Klein!! Truly!! Of course, I'm also grinning from ear to ear as I think I recognize that frock you're wearing. GAAAAHH! Spectacular!!!
That's wonderful - you are so super talented! Please post lots more. I love your voice, and your Uke has a very nice tone I think.
I am sitting. In my night dress. Eating a clemantine. And....
APPLAUDING!!!!!!!!!!!
OUTstanding!!! whoop! whoop! poo-poo-pe-doop! Encore! Encore!!
That was beautiful. I love that film and Uke's always make me think of George Harrison who post Beatles would always carry two with him wherever he went. One for him and one for anyone else he could find to play with.
Thank you so much everyone... I was nervous posting it, listening back I had no idea I sounded like that, it's wierd hearing yourself back, somehow makes me a bit cringey, but as long as you liked it :)
Kayl, I never knew George carried two ukes with him... oh to have been about to have a strum with Mr. Harrison. he was my favourite Beatle x
You have a stunning voice oh multi talented one. xxx
That was excellent! Can't wait to hear more :)
Oh I am a fountain of Beatles knowledge, self confessed Beatlemaniac. I know all the words to A Hard Days Night and Help (The films I mean not the song's, although I do, that's not as impressive!)
George is my favourite too, and he was married to my favourite woman ever - Pattie Boyd. X
Adorable, Gemma...I am entranced.
Ahhhhh! You are lovely! And put my uke playing and singing to shame. =]

So beautiful! I LOVE your singing and playing! Would be lovely to see more videos.
PS. We need to start a vintage lady ukulele band! ;D
That was so brilliant! I bought my son a uke for Christmas last year and he didn't play it so I decided I'd give it a go. I haven't as yet but you have SO inspired me Gem! Fantastico!!!!
xx
When I finally managed to figure out how to get the sound working on the computer *doh* that was brilliant. :-)
That was FABULOUS!
You have a wonderful voice. I really enjoyed the video. When are you recording and releasing a record?
Ello Danielle, thank you for your kind words. No plans for a record I'm afraid... haven't the money to do it myself and I'm unsure how sucessful it would be. I am trying to get some gigs tough... which is proving difficult as there are so many female singers out there.
