What's blue and from the 1930s?

I'm rather thrilled as after brandishing my needle and fixing and darning into a frenzy I can finally reveal my 1930s blue frock....

Me sitting on the naughty step!
Dress from "The Looking Glass" Bridgnorth (they have an Ebay store)

A full size shot (please excuse the odd expression and slight double chin, not too flattering)

The bit with the bakelite buttons is a false grown on bolero. And I love the white collar with jabot (have steered clear of a jabot before as I feared the ruffles would make me look a bit too "booby" - didn't think that was a particularly 1930s look... but it seems to hide rather than accentuate my decollotage!)

Now I've just got to find an occasion to wear it. I've suggested to 'im indoors a trip to see "The Mousetrap" ... he's not so keen, maybe as I've Agatha'd him out with the Poirot DVD box set?!

That is quite gorgeous - did you make it from a vintage pattern or have you been mending a vintage buy? Well done, either way!

I'm going out for dinner tonight and think this dress will get an airing, I don't care that it'll probably be Pizza Hut and people may stare!

I love your look and your hairstyle, 30's is probably my favourite era for fashion but it just doesn't suit my body shape :(
