As I have previously mentioned in other "House Detective" posts (thanks must be given to Tickety Boo Tupney for reminding me of that programme!!) Not all of the rooms at my block were let out to tennis fanatics and holiday makers, some flats were permanently occupied, mine being one of them.
From 1936-1940 a lady called Theodora Mabel Davies lived there... I'm trying to find out more about her, what a name!
It seems my floor had many permanent tenants, and I was lucky to find the electoral register at my local library...

One of the next door neighbours tops the name stakes above Theodora... Frances Evelyn Du-Pre! I imagine her to look like this...

What do you think my Theodora of Ms. Du Pre did for a living or looked like? posts here please!
On another note, the lovely Kate of vintage in a modern world http://vintageinamodernworld.blogspot.com/ has nominated me for an award...
My first award. Thank you so much Kate, I've been having a horrid week and this has really cheered me up :)

What fun to find that out! I live in a fairly new house, but the land was owned by Captain Honeyball an his wife Lady Honeyball, and when she went to the shop in her car she made the keeper come out to take her order! I can defintely see myself doing that, but I don't think the co-op staff would, well, co-operate lol!oh to have a posh name! x
I love that name... Lady Honeyball has arrived, you may kneel!
